March Community Concert Series
In March, we feature the music of Tjärnblom, and benefit Glendale Food Shelf. Tjärnblom, Swedish for “woodland lake flower”, features a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello. Located in the Prospect Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, the Glendale Food Shelf provides food support to families living in Glendale Town Homes. In February, we feature the music of Calliope Women’s Chorus in support of Southeast Seniors. Calliope Women’s Chorus, founded in 1976, is the second oldest feminist chorus in the United States.Southeast Seniors is a neighborhood non-profit program coordinating services to help people 65 and older live well at home. Holiday Service Projects for the Violence Free MN Women’s Shelter Thank you to everyone who contributed to our two holiday projects for the Violence Free MN women’s shelter. This Christmas 68 people (32 women and 36 children) spent the holidays living in a hotel since all the shelters in the state were full, and safe, affordable housing (especially for families) is hard to come by.
