Hello Friends,
On Saturday, April 18 we are hosting a free Resilience and Restoration workshop in the chapel from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. It will be facilitated by James Hamrick, a therapist at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. He lives in Prospect Park and when our city was under siege this winter, reached out to us as a potential partner to offer his gifts to the community.
James will teach us to identify the values underlying the anger and other emotions we deal with in difficult situations, and teach us how to regulate our body’s natural responses to stress. These skills can help us build resiliency as we deal with stress in our daily lives, much of it caused by decision-makers who actively work to harm our poor and marginalized neighbors.
If you would like to attend, please register at james@fishoutofwater.info. There are a limited number of spaces, so reserve yours now! If you have questions, feel free to contact me.
In it for the long haul,
Kelley Rae
