This Sunday we take a big jump in the Biblical Narrative, leapfrogging about 350 years to King David. The bulk of both 1&2 Samuel is devoted to David, his reign, and his family. He’s a huge Biblical figure, and while he is much celebrated, this week we get the story of him and Bathsheba. This is a tough story, and just as a way of warning, it involves sexual harassment/assault. I won’t be dwelling there, as I addressed this a few weeks ago with Joseph and Potiphar’s wife, but it’s there in the story regardless, and I wanted to give you that warning. What we will be diving into is Bathsheba herself. Who is she? What do we know about her? What’s her story? These are the kinds of question we’ll explore. -Pastor Paul Baudhuin
