Worship Guest Speaker – Rev. Grant Swanson

This Sunday we celebrate the final service in our October Seasons of Creation worship series, welcoming guest speaker Rev. Grant Swanson from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary near Chicago. His reflection is titled: Love: The Fruit of the Spirit.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Grant spent the first four years of his professional career teaching sixth grade elementary with Teach for America on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, the site of our 2018 PPUMC summer mission trip. Grant spent summers as a Yellowstone National Park Ranger while earning his MA in English through Middlebury College; he also holds a Master in Divinity with a Peace Studies concentration from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary where he recently joined the staff as Recruitment Coordinator.

Grant is commissioned as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church and serves at Urban Village Church in Chicago, where he resides with his husband, Connor, and his cat-daughter, Nessa. We hope you’ll join us!
