This Sunday we will wrap up our brief Summer Sermo

This Sunday we will wrap up our brief Summer Sermon Series, “Short Stories by Jesus” with the “Parable of the Laborers in the Vineyard”. Seems appropriate for Labor Day! Along with whatever this tricky parable brings us, also, remember that Labor Day is not just another three day weekend for grilling. Monday is the day we recognize the Labor Movement, which brought us things, like, oh, say, the weekend (not the band, the actual weekend!). Today this movement continues to be necessary. With a criminally low and stagnant federal minimum wage and many other such factors, say a prayer this weekend for “The Worker”, for those who are doing everything they can to make ends meet, but are stuck compensation systems that prevent it.

But also, simply have a lovely weekend, and we'll see you on Sunday!
