Feeding our Neighbors

Feeding our Neighbors

Our food ministry continues to grow, thanks to your support. We are serving over 150 free meals the third Wednesday of each month; in May this included providing about 100 servings of food to some of our unhoused neighbors in Minneapolis. Those who attend the meals are appreciative of the opportunity to enjoy nutritious food prepped and prepared with love by our faithful volunteers, and word of mouth is our best marketing tool. People also value the opportunity to visit with neighbors and build connections with people they are meeting for the first time.

Our Free Food pantries in front of the church continue to be heavily used, and we ask that folks take what they need and give what they can. With the arrival of summer, we again welcome donations of soups, sauces, canned vegetables and other items that may have frozen in the winter. We are also in need of pasta and rice mixes that require only the addition of water.

We value your input and ideas as we continue to learn from our work and look forward to where the Spirit is leading us in this mission to bless and be blessed.

When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” A second time he said to him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.
