ABOUT THE PERFORMERS

Tjärnblom, Swedish for “woodland lake flower”, is a Scandinavian-style string band featuring a beautiful blend of Nyckelharpa, Octave Mandolin, Harmonium and Cello.  They travel a modern “Snoose Boulevard Highway” in a musical journey, and play a repertoire of both old and new Swedish, Finnish, and Minnesota tunes for dancing and for listening. They’ve performed across the state of Minnesota, and have appeared on Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion show. The name Tjärnblom is in honor of the Swedish grandfather of one of the band members.

ABOUT THE BENEFICIARY

Since 1976, FamilyWise has pursued their mission: to strengthen families by promoting the safety, stability, and wellbeing of children. Their vision is for a world where every child thrives.

As a multi-service, multi-cultural agency, FamilyWise focuses on nurturing children, families, and communities through culturally competent services. Their staff reflect the communities they serve through shared lived experiences and cultural background, and many can provide services in languages other than English. Their programs focus on natural supports, experiential learning, education, and a therapeutic approach with expertise in trauma-effective care.

This Sunday, February 1, 2026, we welcome Sara Wil This Sunday, February 1, 2026, we welcome Sara Wilhelm Garbers (she/they), M.Div., Ph.D. as our guest preacher!

Sara lives in downtown Hopkins with their spouse, Andy, 6.5 year old puppy, Blue, and 4 year old human, Josie. Sara completed her Ph.D. in ethics at Loyola University in Chicago and currently serves as the Executive Director of the Westminster Town Hall Forum. Prior to this work, Sara has spent time working in theological education, non-profits, and ministerial positions. Sara's dissertation centered on ethical formation for individuals and communities such that they might resist Christian Nationalism. These commitments led them to run for civic office and she is grateful to have just begun service on the Hopkins School Board.

We hope to see you in worship, whether in-person or on Zoom.
