Prospect Park United Methodist Church has a need for a Choir Director and a Worship Service Organist/Pianist. This may mean that we hire two positions or one position depending on the skills and desires of applicants.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Choir Director:
- Select music for, direct rehearsals with, and lead a small and committed choir during worship services.
- The choir currently rehearses on Wednesday evenings and ahead of the Sunday morning service on days when they are singing.
- The choir sings for 9 months of the year (taking June, July, and August off) and sings 3 or 4 Sundays of the month (taking one Sunday off each month).
- The choir also sings at a special worship service on Christmas Eve.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Worship Service Organist/Pianist:
- Working with the Pastor and Worship & Music Committee, plan worship music for Sunday worship and special worship services, including Christmas Eve.
- Provide worship music (hymns, preludes, postludes, and offertories), playing the organ and/or piano for the worship service.
- Work with volunteer musicians for worship & special music.
- Secure qualified substitute to provide worship accompaniment when unavailable.
- This position is not expected to accompany the choir or attend choir rehearsals.
We are a church that looks to use inclusive language. We also encourage the participation of volunteer musicians of all abilities to assist with our music ministry. We have substitute worship accompanists within the congregation that may be available if needed.
