Seeking an Interim Organist ...

PPUMC is seeking an interim organist (Sept 2008 through June 2009) to play our Hinner pipe organ (2 manuals), as well as accompany the church choir and various instrumentalists and soloists.

The organist plays for one Sunday service (9:30 am) and a Wednesday choir rehearsal (7:30-9:00 pm), plus special evening services such as Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, etc.  You may also be asked to play for other functions being held in the church, as your schedule allows, such as funerals or weddings. These are arranged individually, with separate compensation.

• Must have a varied repertoire. A knowledge of the liturgical year is helpful.  You will be responsible for choosing and playing the Prelude, Offertory, and Postlude for each Sunday service. You will be playing the hymns and accompanying the choir, as needed.
• Must be able to function as part of a worship team along with the pastor, choir director and lay worship leaders.

We offer a competitive salary.   Sundays off are negotiable.
