PPUMC is committed to providing Christian Education opportunities for all age groups
through Sunday School, Adventure Group, Confirmation, Intergenerational
activities, and Adult Education, as well as a variety of other small
groups. Sunday School and Adult Education Forums are held most Sundays throughout the school year, following the worship service. Wednesday evenings provide a time for our Community Dinner and Intergenerational Activities, including programs for children and youth. Check the links below for more information about each program. Sunday SchoolSunday School meets during the school year on Sundays from 11:00am-12:00pm, following the Worship Service. Children meet with others in a similar age range to participate in a variety of activities. Download a PDF copy of the schedule. The schedule through May 2010 is: February:
Adult EducationAdult Education Discussions are held on Sundays from 11:00am - 12:00pm. Many different topics are covered. In addition to the information found on this page, please keep an eye on the calendar (found on the Calendar of Events page) for more information about scheduled programs/discussion topics. April 11th: Lay member, John Fox will be conducting a discussion on marriage equity in the church, during the Adult Education hour. He will share the journey that Mayflower UCC has taken to address this social justice issue. Bible StudyJoin Pastor Chad on Wednesday evenings for a lively & interesting time studying the Bible. The group will meet each week, except when other events are occurring. Check the Calendar of Events page for specific dates. Wednesday Night Main Event!Wednesday Dinners will be help during Lent. Dinner is from 6:00-6:30 pm, followed by programming for all ages from 6:30-7:30 pm. Choir meets from 7:30 - 9:00 pm. In addition to the information found on this page, please keep an eye on the calendar (found on the Calendar of Events page).In a world where we are bombarded by requests at every turn, it is common to ask the question, "What does God require of us?" The prophet Micah answered this question simply with, "To seek justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God." (Micah 6:8) What does it mean to see justice? How is this a part of our daily lives? Gather for conversation and inspiration during this March series at Prospect Park UMC to discover how God is encouraging you to seek justice in daily life, especially for our neighbors who are homeless. Feb 24th – Assembling Health Kits for Haiti: Conversations about ongoing relief efforts in Haiti along with assembling health kits for those in need. This event is for all ages. For health kit donation list, refer to donation box at the church. March 3rd – Where Do I Start?: Conversations about pursuing justice as an advocate. Special guest speaker from the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC). March 10th – Can I Really Make a Difference?: Conversations about whether or not we can make a difference in working for justice. What is it that you are passionate about? March 17th – Artistic Expression – Mural Design & Spoken Word: How does art play a role in justice? Share your creative spark as we create an Easter mural together. This event is for all ages. March 24th - Walk the Talk: Have you wondered exactly what Emma Norton is and does? How about Families Moving Forward? Or have you wondered how you can possibly fit one more thing into your life? Hear about social justice opportunities that PPUMC supports and how you can be a part of them. SAVE THE DATE: March 25th – Day on the Hill: Justice We Pursue (for more information see the announcement about DOTH or check out http://www.jrlc.org) Intergenerational Family ActivitiesEveryone is invited to participate in the Intergenerational Family Acitivities, held roughly once a month during the school year. need to know how many folks are coming. Please sign up in the

612-392-8351) by March 28th. Young AdultsJoin with other young adults (college age & ??) to discuss topics that are of interest to the group. Information about specific events will be provided on the Calendar and in the Sunday bulletin. Christian Education CommitteePlease contact Liz Pierce, if you are interest in helping out with Sunday School or other activites that involve our youth and children. We have a LOT of children who will be partaking of this important ministry in our church this year. |
