Advent & Christmastide

Mark your calendars for these special events during Advent & Christmastide!

Sunday, DECEMBER 2, 10:00am:
As Advent begins we anticipate the celebration of the birth of Jesus by wondering what kind of darkness and illumination is at hand. A Communion service for all.

Thursday, DECEMBER 6, 7:00am:
Taizé prayer service shared with several congregations. A quiet time of silence, framed by scripture read in several languages and the singing of chants and songs specifically used in this kind of repetitive, centering community singing.

Sunday, DECEMBER 9, 10:00am:
This special Sunday in Advent we welcome into formal membership a “bouquet” of new members. How do each of us lend out light? How do we plug in to our source? Do we shine brighter together?

Sunday, DECEMBER 16, 10:00am:
Worship features our annual Children’s Pageant. Many traditions from around the world involve light. The children of the church will present a few customs from Sweden, Korea, Mexico and Ethiopia. Followed by festivities and a visit from Santa in Community Hall. Everyone is invited!

Sunday, DECEMBER 23, 10:00am:
Worship features the PPUMC Choir and readers leading the congregation in a contemporary Lessons & Carols service with scripture and sing-alongs.

Monday, DECEMBER 24, 7:00am:
Christmas Eve evening worship. The service is designed to be family friendly and deeply meaningful as we gather on the eve of Christmas Day. An interactive and Spirit filled service with candlelight.

Tuesday, DECEMBER 25, Merry Christmas!

Sunday, DECEMBER 30, 10:00am:
We gather for a Carol Catch Up, a chance to sing together and share Christmas afterglow as we anticipate the New Year.
